Even the most casual reader will eventually notice that this web site isn't about Matisse or pizza. I apologise right now to the astonishingly large number of visitors who arrive via a Google search for 'pictures of pizza'.

I am Jarta, a thirtysomething Englishwoman, who writes a bit, paints a bit, and knows just enough HTML to put the results up on the web. So the truth is, this is another one of those vanity online journal projects. It's all about me, me, me!

Sometimes it's also about ME.

While I am wonderful, interesting and lovely, ME isn't; so I try not to dwell.

Sometimes it is also a love story, a nature notebook, and an artist's sketchbook. And it is one big 'WLTM friends of any age/sex for occasional exchange of e-mails' personal ad.

But there are no pictures of pizza.
